Now I am not making this list up. It was originally created by 2 researchers Thomas Holmes and Richard Rahe in 1967 after seeing a connection between certain life situations and their patients becoming ill. This scale is commonly known as the Holmes and Rahe stress scale, and I am going to be honest, when I pulled it up I could have sworn that it included moving as one of its original top ten. But it turns out, it was in the top 25, but many researchers believe it should be in the top 10 and therefore have included it in theirs. Regardless of where it is on this list from 1967 I consider moving to be one of the top 10 most stressful life events, and it’s number ten on my list, and the first one I want to talk about.
